Sweet Treats & the Holidays

I know more than most that excess sugar is not the best for our hormones, fertility, or overall health. And the holidays are often filled with sugary treats and desserts. 

I am a big fan of practicing intuitive eating and a 90/10 rule when it comes to healthy eating. I also believe medicine comes in many forms. Eating low-sugar, nutrient-dense whole foods is absolutely medicine. And there can be medicine in enjoying a warm chocolate chip cookie right out of the oven with your grandmother or cousin who you only see a few times a year.

 

Instead of telling you not to eat any of the yummy and tempting treats this holiday season, I thought I would share some of my favorites that are either lower in sugar, or use healthier ingredients than traditional desserts.
